Hi,
This error is coming from Microsoft, not directly from ESET Cloud Office Security.

What the error means:
AADSTS650051 – “Consent action failed”
This usually means Microsoft Entra ID is blocking the permissions being requested.
Common causes:
  • Admin consent has not been granted
  • The account used is not a Global Administrator
  • User consent is disabled in Entra
Recommended troubleshooting steps:

Option 1 – Grant admin consent (most common fix)
Log in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center
Go to: Applications → Enterprise applications
Search for: ESET Cloud Office Security
Open it → Permissions → Click “Grant admin consent for your tenant” → Confirm

Option 2 – Use a Global Admin account
Make sure the account you are using is a Global Administrator (not just a standard or security admin), then re-add the tenant in ECOS

Option 3 – Check consent settings (if still failing)
Go to: Identity → Applications → Enterprise applications → Consent and permissions
Check if “Users can consent to apps” is disabled
If disabled, admin consent is required

Option 4 – Remove and re-add the app
Remove ESET Cloud Office Security from Enterprise Applications
Then go back to ECOS and add the tenant again, approving consent when prompted

Recommendation:
Please use a Global Administrator account when re-adding the tenant to avoid the issue.
