  • Your ESET product displays the message "Virus signature database update ended with an error" as shown below

  1. Verify that your Internet connection is active by visiting www.buyeset.com.au
    • If you do not have an active internet connection, you will need to restore your connection before you can activate your ESET product or receive virus signature database updates

     

  2. Open ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus. How do I open my ESET product?
     
  3. Press F5 to open Advanced setup.
     
  4. Expand Update  Settings and click Clear.

    Version 7 and earlier: Expand Update  Update and click Clear.

  1. Verify that your Username and Password have been entered correctly and click OK.
     
  2. Restart your computer.
     
  3. Open the main program window and click Update  OK. Once you are able to receive updates the message Virus signature database is up to date will be displayed.
