- Your ESET product displays the message "Virus signature database update ended with an error" as shown below

Solution
- Verify that your Internet connection is active by visiting www.buyeset.com.au
- If you do not have an active internet connection, you will need to restore your connection before you can activate your ESET product or receive virus signature database updates
- Open ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus. How do I open my ESET product?
- Press F5 to open Advanced setup.
- Expand Update
Settings and click Clear.
Version 7 and earlier: Expand UpdateUpdate and click Clear.

- Verify that your Username and Password have been entered correctly and click OK.
- Restart your computer.
- Open the main program window and click Update
OK. Once you are able to receive updates the message Virus signature database is up to date will be displayed.
